Side bending press
Here is a quick video showing how I bend guitar sides in a press. The press is heated with 3 200 watt light bulbs. Once hot, I place a wet side between the 2 pieces of sheet metal and clamp them into the press. The wood bends very easily due to the steam created by the hot metal touching the wet wood. The press is 6 inches wide, so I can usually bend just one side at a time, but in this video I am bending 2 3/4" wide sides for an archtop guitar, so both can be pressed at the same time.
