Archtop Binding
In this video I show the steps involved in putting wood bindings on an archtop guitar body. I do not show how I laminated the maple and koa binding strips, or how I bent them after laminating and thickness sanding. What I do show is how I rout the body to accommodate the binding and purfling, how the bindings are glued in place and, finally, how they are scraped and sanded flush to the body. The guitar in this video is a 15" archtop with an Adirondack Red Spruce soundboard and birdseye maple back and sides.
