After several battery fires in the cabin, they were banned altogether. When the safety video started playing on the screens, it turned out our screens weren't working. The flight attendants politely asked us to temporarily move to other seats with working screens and then return to our own. I even offered to move us to the empty front row, but that didn't work. 😁 People pay for those kinds of seats. We were fed twice, and it was delicious. The first time, the main course was Chinese pork in a spicy sauce with perfectly cooked rice, and the second time, noodles with fish in a sweet and sour marinade. The icing on the cake were the warmed buns handed out for dessert. Alcohol on board is only available in the form of Tsingtao beer. Connection in Shanghai Even if you don't plan to leave the safe zone during your connection, you'll still have to endure the hellish process of passport control and security. The Chinese don't care if you're late for your next flight—please, just get in the general queue. These unpleasant nuances should be taken into account when choosing tickets and allow for a possible flight delay from Moscow and a sluggish connection in China. We even managed to get some sleep. Flight to Osaka The Shanghai-Osaka flight was comfortable: the flight took 1 hour and 50 minutes, during which time you were still served a full and delicious meal. The plane was smaller: it wasn't a long-haul one, with a 3-on-3 seating configuration. We passed through the border quickly, and no questions were asked at passport control. However, at customs, everyone was asked to fill out a declaration form, even if they had nothing to declare. It was essentially a standard entry form.
