Der Langrisser (SFC JP) Playthrough --- Stage 6 (+Runestone shenanigans and Secret Stage entrance)

This stage is great for levelling up Riana (or Hein and Elwin) for one reason: Turn Undead. Most of the enemies here are monsters or undead, and Turn Undead instantly kills all troops of the latter type regardless of the caster and target commander's levels and still gives the caster full Exp for each unit killed this way. Place either of them in the center and let that spell fly. As for the other enemies, Gels are weak against Monks, and Werewolves are cavalry units. Vargas only appears if you killed Zolm in the previous stage, and he brings two Grenadier units with him which are worth hefty amounts of Exp each. It is definitely possible to kill Egbert here with the right tools if you can run far enough in, i.e. with Hein using Elves, Attack1 and with Quick cast on them. Even better if you can take out one or two of his Grenadiers beforehand. Otherwise the enemies aren't exceptionally powerful aside from maybe the Skeletons that the Lich has, which Turn Undead takes care of anyway. The Runestone in this stage is mutually exclusive with the one on Stage 5. When equipped on a person undergoing a Class Change, it reverts him/her back to their Tier 2 Class so they can level up again, such as going on a different class path for additional troops and spells. If that character is maxed out at Lv10 when he/she does this, any extra Exp that the character has accumulated since then also applies to this new class change, and if enough is accumulated, a character can level past their Tier 2 class and go straight into Tier 3, as Hein did here by blowing right by Sorcerer and going straight into Mage. However, not all classes will level past the second tier; Silver Knight for example will stop at Lv8. And furthermore the Runestone applies when the character reaches Lv10 in ANY class and sends them back to Tier 2; This means if you accidentally equipped Hein with one when he's still going into Sorcerer to see what it does, then level him to Lv10, the Runestone will be consumed and he will be booted back to Lv1 Sorcerer (oddly specific example that totally didn't happen to little me first playing the game and forcing me to eventually restart because Hein became permanently behind on levels and power, nope nope). Lester levels up to Captain and is now one of two people on my team who has Elves, which will come in VERY handy given what is coming up next here.
