Der Langrisser (SFC JP) Playthrough --- Stage 8 (Light Route)

An easy fight across a long, narrow bridge, with almost nothing but enemy Hawklords and Harpies surrounding you. Fortunately by this stage in the game, you'll likely have some heavy hitting Tier 3 classes under your belt even on a normal playthrough and they're most likely a non-issue. The 18 turn limit is also very generous provided you don't fool around too much, even without Teleport. For me though, this stage is also the very last chance for me to get Lester caught up in levels with everyone else, which means him bringing Elves to shoot all of these Harpies down. However as long as Attack2 is cast on him beforehand, the Harpies won't even attack him even when they're right up in his Elves' faces. So it's basically a shooting gallery for him, and Lester was able to finally get out of Captain and Class Change to Serpent Knight this way. Kramer brings the enemy side's first Ballistas to this stage, which have an extremely long attack range, but... that's about it. They are slow, take double damage from magic attacks, and in this game don't even have the archer property that Elves, High Elves and Witches do so fliers aren't actually weak against them. Also, at 300g per unit they are more expensive than most other troop types to buy. Even Cherie marching up some Dragoons makes short work of them. Finally, the entrance to the second Secret Stage is underneath the bridge. It's still free Exp, so might as well. Class Changes: Lester: Captain ~ Serpent Knight
