During my 7-day Carian Way adventure, I hiked alone along the foothills of the Latmos (Beşparmak) Mountains, from the Karpuzlu district of Aydın to the Kapıkırı and Gölyaka neighborhoods of Muğla, mostly following the trails known as the Inland Carian Way. I woke up on the second day of my adventure inside my tent pitched within the Agora building of the Ancient City of Alinda. While waiting for my gear—which had gotten soaked in the rain the previous night—to dry, I had the chance to wander around the Agora. I set off after paying my respects and asking for safe passage from the true masters of these mountains (Latmos - Beşparmak Mountains). Yörük Ali Efe, Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe, Kerimoğlu Eyüp Efe, Demirci Mehmet Efe, and countless other unnamed efes constitute a vital part of Turkish culture. May their souls rest in peace. Throughout the day, I mostly walked on paths built in ancient times, commonly known as Roman Roads since they were heavily used by the Romans. Along the way, I encountered a cow tied up using an outdated, restrictive hobbling method (köstek). I hesitated between untying it or leaving it be, as I didn't want to interfere with the shepherd's business. However, when the cow started following me, I couldn't resist and untied it. I hope it didn't cause any major issues, and I truly hope our livestock herders move away from this archaic practice. I reached Tekeler Village well before sunset. The locals at the village coffeehouse told me there would be a celebration tonight.
