To that end, the educational mission of the OBGYN residency program is paramount - to educate residents so they are not only excellent practitioners of OBGYN, but also superior candidates should they pursue a career in the subspecialties of reproductive endocrinology and infertility, maternal-fetal medicine, gynecologic oncology, or female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. The JPS Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program offers county and private hospital exposure at every care level in a system that has more than 4,000 births each year. As JPS is the public hospital system for Tarrant County, residents see and treat a wide array of pathologies. Our services, setting, and mission are putting all the pieces of the woman's health picture together. We provide graduate medical education that frames obstetric and gynecologic medicine together in one location. JPS provides adult inpatient care at John Peter Smith Hospital, a facility licensed for 582 beds and located in Fort Worth, Texas. JPS has served as a Level I Trauma Center for Tarrant County for over a decade and is currently the largest training institution in Fort Worth.
