“Take heart, my child, your sins are forgiven.” These words of Jesus are not addressed only to the paralytic in the Gospel; they are also addressed to each one of us. On this day, the Word of God reveals to us a Christ who first comes to heal our hearts before lifting up our entire lives. In today’s Gospel, Jesus invites us to rediscover our trust in his mercy. Through the readings, the homily, and the prayer, let us discover that our wounds, our faults, and our discouragements never have the last word when we place them in the hands of the Lord.
