I waited nearly a decade for Anonymous;Code

Anonymous;Code was announced eight years ago. I've been waiting for the day I was finally able to cover it on my channel since the moment I started one. That's a long time for a game to be in development, and I don't think it came out as the same game it was envisioned as. But, despite that, I think what we got was a fascinating and deeply entertaining experience that pushes the medium forward. Despite some issues, I truly loved my time with Anonymous;Code. However, I'm also interesting in interrogating what it means for someone to spend that long anticipating a game and the expectations they form. Do they ultimately matter? Also, for those worried about spoilers I only used scenes from the first three chapters and a handful from the beginning of the fourth. I did not go outside of anything used in the marketing. If you’ve ever tried to play a title in this series and ended up getting bored by the slow pace, A;C was made for you. It’s a lightning-fast departure from a lot of series traditions, so much so that I felt a good amount of whiplash during my playthrough. I’ve never seen a game bounce between hyperfixations with such effortlessness. My head almost exploded from trying to keep track of it all.
