Colonia Suiza en un par de horas: Un pueblo encantado a 30 minutos de Bariloche

During our stay in San Carlos de Bariloche, we took two excursions. One of them, like every time we visit this gem of Patagonia, was to visit Colonia Suiza. A town with European influences but nestled against the mountain range in Argentina. 25 kilometers from Bariloche, its history dates back to the late 19th century. It was the first Swiss settlement in Patagonian territory, and that's why the place got its name. We traveled by car, but you can get there by bus. And, in August 2025, the fare was really expensive, and it wasn't that far from being able to negotiate a price with a taxi. In Colonia Suiza, people eat curanto on Wednesdays and Sundays.
