Three years ago, we filmed the Babel farm during the hay harvest. Since our first visit, a lot has changed: there are new mowing and windrowing machines, and a new hay barn with a drying facility has been built on the farm. Reason enough for an update. While the first part of our new video focused on mowing and windrowing methods that protect the forage, this sequel takes us to the new hay barn. We accompany Herbert Babel as he brings in the new Strautmann hay wagon, and we present the Arwego hay drying system in detail. It features several technical innovations that enable efficient hay drying. We also take a look at how the 70 dairy cows are fed. Tobi prepares a tasty total mixed ration (TMR) from hay, water, and grain. On top of that, the cows get fresh grass once a day.
