The old hall, with gothic windows, vaulted ceiling and a well originates back to the 1300s and is nearly 300 years older than the house. It has seen very few families in all its 400 years… A former member of parliament built this house in 1620 and it stayed within his family until 1924. It was then bought by a member of the labour party in 1933, he lived here with his wife and daughter until passing away in 2005 at the age of 97. A year later their daughter moved out and his wife continued to live here alone until passing away at the age of 86, the house has been frozen this way ever since. The upper floors hold a decade of hoarding, each room piled high with clothes, high street treasures and furniture, nature is gradually crawling inside… With so many years of life held within it, there seems to be a surprise around every corner.
