He is the son of late Sri S B Chavan, who also served the State of Maharashtra as its Chief Minister twice. Currently, Sri Ashok Chavan is a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. The Chavan family’s association with Bhagawan goes back more than six decades to the 1960s. Sri Ashok Chavan remembers having Bhagawan’s darshan when he was barely six.
