On the 23rd of November, 1926, in a remote hamlet was born a baby boy. On the 24th of November, 1926, Sri Aurobindo, in Pondicherry, declared that Krishna had descended into the physical. That day, known as 'Siddhi Day' in the Sri Aurobindo circles, marked the beginning of a great phase of complete silence in the yogi, which continued till he gave up the body in 1950. It was also after that day that Aurobindo Ghosh became Sri Aurobindo and the Aurobindo Ashram was conceived.
