Probably the most famous piece of modern times. Who doesn't know the film "The Intouchables"? I've seen it 5, 6, or 7 times and I still think it's world-class! It conveys such a profound message, and it was through this film that I discovered Ludovico Einaudi and his masterpieces in general. Una Mattina, Experience, Nuvole Bianche, Elements, and many other pieces were composed and performed by him. • What I find absolutely fascinating every time is how he plays the pieces with such a special feeling. Something I've never heard from anyone else. Notes are omitted, played with incredible lightness, or added, and it always sounds powerful and deeply moves me. Fascination, awe, speechlessness, and a sparkle in my eyes then surface. • When I'm learning a new piece, I listen to it played by many different pianists and look for the version that I find most beautiful. • In this case (I don't mean to criticize anyone), no one can match Einaudi's performance and ease. Not even me, and yes, I don't play it exactly from the sheet music, but with as much feeling as I possibly can.
