The Mystery of the Purple Hedgehog

I recently had the nostalgic joy of rummaging through my childhood toybox and found some interesting things in there. One figure in particular caught my eye. A mysterious purple hedgehog. A half-Sonic, half-Mario bootleg of sorts. Who is he? Where did he come from? What's his name? All your (and my) questions will be answered! In this video I talk about this purple miniature and discuss a few other cool finds too. Remember the Sonic McDonald's toys? How about the Sonic/Judge Dredd/Street Sharks cross-over toys? I also shared this weird little purple hedgehog with my community here on YouTube and received some interesting guesses.
