The bells of St Mary, Kingskerswell, S. Devon
The bells of Kingskerswell were restored, augmented, tuned and rehung in a new frame by Nicholson in 2019. They are a mixture of founders with 2 new trebles and the 5th cast in Holland by Eijsbouts, then you have 2 Pennington bells cast in 1815 and 3 Mears and Stainbank bells cast in 1887 and 1937 respectively. The bells go well and sound pretty good, there is some slight odd struckness but nothing to untoward. Here we hear only the back 6 being rung as we are currently practising for the South Devon 6 bell on Saturday, 13th May, which is being held on the back six bells at Buckland in the Moor. The Tenor at Kingskerswell is 7-0-3 in G#.
