Are Japanese knives really the best in the world? I took a day trip from Wakayama to Osaka to find out — and what I discovered changed the way I cook forever. It all started with my son’s birthday request: he wanted a Japanese knife. Surprised, I did some research and learned why chefs everywhere say Japan makes the sharpest, most precise knives in the world. So I headed to Osaka — famous for knife-making — to buy him one… and of course, I couldn’t resist bringing one home for myself. What I experienced blew me away: 🔪 Expert guidance and amazing customer service 🔪 A craftsman engraving names in Japanese on the blades 🔪 A knife so sharp it transformed how I cook instantly And the journey didn’t end there. The next day, I bought an iron frypan — a healthier alternative to Teflon — and tested my new tools in the kitchen, before finishing with a little update from my garden here in Japan. ✨ Would you try a Japanese knife?
