Why are artists so obsessed with nostalgia today? I thought it was weird and then uncovered something hiding in plain sight. It will change how you listen to music forever. For real. This is a deep dive / video essay about the music industry feeling as if it is only made up of nostalgia bait today. Whether it is a sample or a vibe, everything nowadays feels like my childhood is being used to make money off of me because I am chronically online, stuck in 2009 / 2016 / 2018 (you decide) and easily will spend money to escape the mundane day to day of adulthood.
