For seven days I went back and forth on whether the state proved this poisoning case. Now court is done, the evidence is in, and I finally know where I land. Blaise Taylor was a pro scout for the Tennessee Titans. Jade Benning was his pregnant girlfriend, days from her 25th birthday, decorating a nursery for the daughter they were expecting. The state says Taylor did not want that baby, so he dissolved cocaine into the sweet pink lemonade she was drinking. Jade and their unborn daughter Ivy both died. The defense says Jade died of an accidental overdose from her own drug use.
