Here’s Something To Believe In from the 1995 These Days album! . After playing several new songs I felt like going back and do some classic stuff. These Days is my favorite album of all time. Songwriting, playing, singing, production. It just has it all. Something To Believe In is in my top 5 Jovi tracks. Absolutely incredible. Vocal wise Jon left his soul on the tape. The choruses are out of this world and especially the second one when Richie answers him. It’s a pretty strange song in many ways. The toms on the drums, the fretless bass, the crazy middle section. Richie’s playing is great. The funky verse part is a cool figure. The ending solo is so much Sambora. I’m not crazy about the middle section. I get that it’s cool but it feels so out if place. It’s hard to play it exactly as Richie. There’s a lot of noice going on and probably a one take. But it’s pretty epic when it goes back to the chorus.
