Roberta Giulia Mezzasalma, a dynamic woman, doesn't mince her words. Fanpage.it's cameras met her at her restaurant in Vittoria, in the Ragusa province. Roberta was a man, then underwent surgery in 1999 that effectively transformed her into a woman. Today, she's a candidate in the Sicilian regional elections for the UDC (Musumeci list - center-right), a party she herself calls "bigoted." A few days ago, she was the victim of an act of intimidation: someone broke the window of her car, parked in the heart of Vittoria. Roberta has a difficult past: "I felt like a girl, I was born in the wrong body. As a child, they told me I had to play with boys, and at school they pushed me around, I was ridiculed [...] In fact, I feel unfortunate for having been born the way I am.
