PRDs can t keep up

Jake said something I keep replaying: if engineers can ship faster than product can spec, product gets bypassed. This is happening in real teams right now. The agent-assisted engineer writes, tests, and ships a feature in an afternoon. The PRD process is on a one-week cycle. The PRD shows up after the feature is already in production. Product becomes a documentation function for decisions someone else made. The response is not to write faster PRDs. The response is to redesign the function. Have decisions ready at build time, not at handoff time. Move shaping work upstream, into customer conversations and competitive thinking and pricing logic, where it can't be done by an agent and where it actually steers what gets built. If you're a product leader and your team is still on the spec-handoff treadmill, you're going to lose influence faster than you think. Full conversation: https://dub.sh/F0qzdXy
