Türkiye'de Pankreas Kanserini Araştırıyoruz

I have been working on pancreatic cancer for approximately 30 years. This scientific journey, which began in Germany, continues today at the Acıbadem University Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Pancreatic Cancer Research Center. At our center, together with our master's and doctoral students, researchers, and international collaborations, we strive to better understand the biology of pancreatic cancer. Our goal is not only to treat the disease but also to uncover how it arises, why it progresses, and the mechanisms by which it spreads. One of the most important features of our research is that it begins directly with the patient. We evaluate tumor tissues and clinical data obtained during surgery, and then examine these in a laboratory setting using cell and experimental models to generate new information. The interactions between pancreatic cancer and the nervous system are one of the research areas we have focused on for many years. Because if we can better understand these mechanisms, we can develop new treatments to prevent the recurrence and spread of the disease. The primary goal of the research we conduct at Acıbadem University Mehmet Ali Aydınlar Pancreatic Cancer Research Center is to give laboratory knowledge back to the patient and to reintegrate patient knowledge into science. In this video, I explain why pancreatic cancer research is so important and how we conduct this research at our center.
