Hiking Ute Canyon - Colorado National Monument, March 2026

#utah #coloradonationalmonument #camping #craftbeer #backpacking #backpacking #hiking #colorado #nationalmonument #desert This is a day hike up Ute Canyon in the Colorado National Monument located in beautiful Western Colorado. The hike starts at the Wildwood/Liberty Cap Trailhead and heads up Ute Canyon for roughly 6 miles to the Upper Monument Road. You climb close to 2k of elevation gain over the course of the 13 mile out and back hike. There were a handful of cars in the parking lot yet I was lucky enough to only run into one other person in Ute Canyon. The recent rains gave Ute a lush green look, with small critters, wildflowers, and even some flowing water near the top of the canyon. I had a delicious West Coast IPA "Rocky Mountain Advantage" from West Bound & Down/Cannonball Creek/River North at the top of the hike, then headed back down the way I came. This was a fantastic hike, and one of my favorite local hikes to just get away for a few hours. I hope you enjoy this video, and as always thanks for watching! Safe Trails!
