Spain Promotes Deeper Cultural Ties With Nigeria

The kingdom of Spain has affirmed its commitment to strengthening cultural ties with Nigeria through artistic exchange. First Secretary at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain, Juan Diego Dembour, said this at a live stage performance by Spanish musician Niño de Elche in Abuja. The performance, held at the National Universities Commission (NUC) Auditorium, attracted a diverse audience comprising members of Abuja’s entertainment industry, government officials, students, culture enthusiasts and the diplomatic community. The highpoint of the evening was a collaborative performance between Niño de Elche and a cultural troupe from the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC). The joint presentation fused the passion and rhythm of Spanish flamenco with vibrant Nigerian dance, percussion and traditional performance, producing a colourful display of cultural dialogue that drew a standing ovation from the audience. The collaboration underscored the growing cultural partnership between Spain and Nigeria, highlighting the power of the performing arts to foster mutual understanding, creativity and enduring people-to-people ties.
