GRANITOS. RELIEVE GRANÍTICO

Plutonic and especially granitic rock regions exhibit very characteristic landforms, including macroforms such as domes, inselbergs, boulder fields, erosion plains, and sandstone plains. They also feature smaller mesoforms such as boulders, balancing rocks, tors, basins, and tafoni. This video showcases some of these landforms with simple explanations of their geological origin. To create it, several granitic areas of the Spanish Central System, where these geomorphologies are well represented, were extensively studied, particularly the boulder field of La Pedriza in Manzanares el Real, Madrid.
