Polarizing Hellijector

A demonstration of the Hellijector, designed and built to display Helliwell's 35mm polarized slides with a video output signal. Here, the unique machine is connected to a TV monitor and several slides are seen on the screen showing the changing colours activated by a rotating polarized filter. Built in 2022, the Hellijector has recently been adapted with a new lamp holder to replace the original, and its capabilities can now be seen in this video. The slides, made with clear cellophane, appear without colour until the polarizing filters take effect and bring forth shapes and hues according to the arrangement of the cellophane layers. The electronic music background was created in July 2026 with self-built Hellitron tone generators.
