Viento State Park Oregon - Gorgeous Gorge Views, Sleepless Nights - Full Review

Viento State Park sits right on the Columbia River in the heart of the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge — about five minutes from Hood River and 25 minutes from the waterfalls like Multnomah. It's a pretty, shaded campground with paved, mostly level sites, partial hookups (water and electric — no sewer and no dump station), clean flush toilets and hot free showers, and a small rocky day-use beach that's great for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and a beautiful sunset over the river. It's also cheaper than a lot of the nearby parks. The catch? Noise. Viento is wedged between I-84 and an active rail line, so between highway traffic and trains blowing their horns through the night, sleep is the real price of admission. It's a great stopping point if you're chasing the Gorge's waterfalls and can't get into Ainsworth up the road — just bring earplugs. https://stateparks.oregon.gov/index.c...
