La musique trad québécoise — je ne suis pas totalement perdu

I'm a stage technician by trade, and a musician—trained in jazz and classical music, with a keen ear for traditional French music. So when I was told to go listen to traditional Quebec music, I expected to discover a new country. Instead, I found familiar influences. The jig, the fiddle, the accordion, the footwork—there's definitely an Irish influence there. But there's also something else, something older, something that comes from a little closer to home. I didn't come to compare. I came to listen.    • FOLKLORE QUÉBÉCOIS : la musique traditionn...   Since 52 AD.
