Goodwins sandbanks, English Channel. Off Kentish coast. M/S of mist-shrouded sea, M/S buoy bobbing in the water. M/S of the Walmer lifeboat in the sea. Camera pans across the sandbanks, various shots as water runs quickly into them. C/U pool of water. M/S lifeboatmen getting out of a rowing boat, they walk along the sands. C/U man's boots standing on quicksands. M/S as he tries to pull his foot out. C/U boots sinking in quicksand. M/S as the two other men pull him out. C/U water running in.
