Almost twenty five years ago, armed with nothing but a dream, Thangjam Joykumar (Founder and MD of Thangjam Agro Industries) began his most incredible journey. This video tells the incredible and inspiring journey of Thangjam Agro Industries. This journey has been not an easy one and he faced many challenges along the way. Manipur does not have the most suitable economic, social or political environment to run a manufacturing unit. Against all the odds, he worked very hard to sustain and develop this company. The company, under the brand name Likla (which means dew drop) started with just 4 employees in 1991 to now employ over 600 persons and is generating more employment opportunities every year. Likla started as a small scale agro based food industry which manufactured juice from pineapple. Packaged drinking water was introduced in 2010 and a year later in 2012 first Manufacturing unit was launched at Nilakuthi Food Park and headquarter in Chingmeirong. As the company's expanded, bakery items were added in 2016. The following year, Likla bakery outlet chain was launched and it is the first in the region. Over the years of our efforts to deliver the best quality food products and due to the loyalty of our most valued consumers, Likla is today undoubtedly the most valued foods brand in the region.
