She Turned a Dark 1960s House into a Bright Family Home

See inside soulful places: https://www.getnostalgia.com?utm_sour... ⬤ Some houses announce themselves the moment you walk in. Others take a year of dust, scaffolding, and difficult decisions before they finally do. Jo Holmes is a GP in North Berwick, a mother of two teenage daughters, and — by her own admission — no good at DIY. When she first saw this house, it was dark, outdated, and badly neglected. She and her husband made an offer. It was rejected, but they refused to take no for an answer. What followed was a full year of renovation: knocking through walls, rebuilding a roof that wasn’t built to standard, carving out a double-height, church-like kitchen with skylights where a dark, cramped room used to be. The result is a home built entirely around comfort — bright, a little messy, and full of life.
