Inside a 1960s Council Flat Turned Sanctuary in Edinburgh

If you want to make films: https://getnostalgia.com/consultation... ⬤ This is a story about what it takes to make a home your own when hardly anything about it was your first choice. Eileen Inglis moved into a 1960s ex-local authority flat in Newhaven with lower ceilings than she’d been used to, a smaller kitchen, and not a trace of Georgian. She had only a builder, a vision, and three weeks to renovate it. Decisions had to be made fast. A year on, the flat is a personal sanctuary right across from the harbour — with a Scandinavian feel and treasures from the Mediterranean to the Indian Ocean.
