YouTube influencers are speaking out about the current situation, where sexism is still very prevalent, where feminism is still not understood as gender equality, and how we can change this. They explain it through their coming-out stories, how it affected their lives, and their decision to help others. Stories of people who have nothing in common other than not following the norm. We believe that our simple experiences could be helpful for those who are going through a personal process that we went through some time ago. A process, by the way, that we survived. They are Sara Giménez and Marta. The Idea The idea originated from Sara's final year project. We had wanted to start a project together for a long time to raise awareness of the LGBTQ+ community. Having to do a project as a university requirement was what pushed us to launch the brand. Our initial idea was to work with schools, but due to the significant difficulties involved in working with the public administration, we decided to open a YouTube channel called Devermut.
