Finding the Perfect Botanical for This Collage
In this video, I'm searching for the perfect botanical tissue print to complete a collage. The interesting thing is that this collage wasn't originally intended to become a finished piece. I created the background as a demonstration for my recent video, Botanical Prints That Work in Collage: 3 Problems (and Fixes). But the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. So I set out to find the right botanical print to bring it to life. Along the way, we'll collect plants, create a series of botanical tissue prints, and audition them over the collage background to see which one deserves the starring role. This process reminded me of an important lesson: A beautiful print isn't always the right print. Sometimes the best choice is the print that supports the collage, creates movement, and helps pull the composition together. And sometimes the answer is a little unexpected. ________________________________________ JOIN MY NEWSLETTER I share studio insights, creative discoveries, tips, and updates on what I'm exploring in my own art practice. https://www.kitbell.ca/newsletter.html ________________________________________ RELATED VIDEOS Botanical Prints That Work in Collage: 3 Problems (and Fixes) • Botanical Prints That Work In Collage: 3 P...
