Our Lady of the Mystic Rose

In 1947, in the northern Italian town of Montichiari, the Mother of God appeared to Pierina Gilli, a humble hospital nurse. She came first in sorrow, her heart pierced by three swords, a sign of the wounds caused by unfaithfulness among priests and religious souls. Then she returned in white, with three roses on her heart, red, white, and gold. Her plea was simple: "Prayer, penance, sacrifice." She asked to be known by a tender old title from the litanies: Rosa Mystica, the Mystical Rose. And she made a request for the whole world, that every year on December 8, at noon, an Hour of Grace be kept: "Through this practice, many spiritual and bodily graces will be obtained." For decades the apparitions were met with caution. But in 2024, the Vatican gave its blessing to the devotion, finding that the messages of Rosa Mystica hold nothing contrary to the faith. 🕊️ Subscribe for more on Marian apparitions, miracles, and prayers.
