Our Lady of Akita

In 1973, in a quiet convent in Akita, Japan, a deaf nun heard a voice speak from a wooden statue of Mary. Our Lady gave Sister Agnes Sasagawa three messages. And then the statue itself began to bleed, to sweat, and to weep, one hundred and one times over the years that followed, witnessed by more than five hundred people and even broadcast on Japanese national television. "Each person in this community is my irreplaceable daughter," Our Lady told her. And she made a promise: "Those who place their confidence in me will be saved." The bishop who approved the events called it "the message of Fatima." Sister Agnes lived more than fifty years after that summer. She died on August 15, 2024, the Feast of the Assumption, the day the Church remembers Our Lady being taken home. 🕊️ Subscribe for more on Marian apparitions, miracles, and prayers.
