Locomotives of BDZ series 77 were built in Romania in 1980s and nowadays their maintenance turns to be impossible due to the lack of spare parts and outdated technical concepts. Express Service is Bulgarian national leader in providing locomotive services. Their factory is located near Ruse. The company signed a contract for overhaul and modernization of 2 locomotives. The price is 2 mil leva each. They practically built a new modern digital and ecological locomotive replacing old Maybach diesel engine with CAT C32 Stage V, also built new cabins and command desks, entirely new electric, pneumatic and hydraulic installations, replaced old compressor.
