One Life to Live 5/22/1991

Bo gives Cassie a hard time, questioning her over a gap in her resume–which she explains was when she quit her job to help some friends who were kidnapped in Mendorra. After joking with her about it, Bo offers her a job as the new environmental reporter. She invites Bo to dinner to celebrate their new working relationship. Cord wakes Tina up and reminds her that they need to get to the family meeting Viki and Clint called. Viki tells Clint there’s no other choice but to tell the family the truth about their financial situation. Renee and Asa head to Llanfair, but Max says he needs to talk to DuAnn first and that he’ll get there as soon as he can. Max tells DuAnn she shouldn’t try to force LeeAnn to be someone she isn’t. He explains that LeeAnn likes working with the animals and in the stables, and DuAnn says if LeeAnn is happy, she’s happy too. Renee confides in Tina that she’s concerned the truth about Max will come out. Alex shows up looking for Bo, but Cassie and Rika say he just left. Alex seems none too thrilled to learn that Cassie has just accepted a job at the Banner. Alex is mollified when Cassie assumes Bo and Alex are a couple. Cassie invites Alex to join her and Bo for dinner, but Alex says she has too much work to do. Dorian and Herb have lunch, but they’re interrupted when Dorian receives flowers from an unnamed “admirer.” After Herb leaves Carlo shows up at Dorian’s suite. Carlo says he wants to hire Dorian to help him break into Llanview’s high society, guiding his philanthropy. She refuses and tries to show him the door, but Carlo sweeten’s the offer. Max arrives at Llanfair and says he has an announcement. Renee tries to stop him from speaking, but he just tells everyone that Asa offered him ownership of the hotel and he’s decided to accept. Asa tells Clint he’d better get on with whatever they’re gathered here for. Clint explains that he and Viki are basically broke–they have The Banner, but it’s heavily mortgaged, and they have the house, but that’s about all that’s left. The family all offer to chip in and help bail Clint and Viki out, but Clint refuses. Renee gives Tina some of Asa’s hair and they discuss how to get a sample from Max and the hair from Andy’s locket. Bo goes to Cassie’s for dinner and brings her a goldfish as a welcome gift. Before dinner starts, they are interrupted by Dorian, who drops by with an antique mirror she spotted and bought for Cassie. Viki and Cord meet with Banner employees to explain the financial situation. Viki notes the employees are unhappy and wonders if she will be able to save her father’s paper after all.
