Riding Wakayama’s Famous Cat Train to Kishi Station (Tama Stationmaster)
Today, Beary and Grandpa Bear are in Wakayama, about an hour south of Osaka, to ride a charming little railway with 14 stations… all in search of a legendary local celebrity: the Cat Stationmaster at Kishi Station. Along the way, we somehow manage to: miss the right train (classic Grandpa Bear moment), get distracted by multiple themed trains (including the Strawberry Train 🍓), film tiny rural stations, rice fields, bridges, and a beautiful lake at golden hour, attempt drone shots… with “mixed results” 😅 and yes… Beary watches The Matrix on the plane and declares himself Neo Bear. Things get weird. We also share some fun facts about Tama, the famous cat appointed stationmaster in 2007, and the story of her successors — Nitama and Yontama. If you like Japanese countryside railways, quirky themed trains, and slightly chaotic bear adventures, you’re in the right place. 🐾 Chapters: 00:00 Welcome to Beary Travels 00:40 Starting at Wakayama Station (cat train spotting!) 01:08 Oops… wrong train! 01:42 Beary boards the red train 02:11 White cat train at Station 2 02:27 Walking the line: track works, torii gate & countryside shots 03:14 Drone time… and the “into the sun” mistake 03:47 Bearry's Fun facts 04:13 Strawberry Train! 04:49 First close-up of the Tama Museum Train 05:20 Bob-the-Builder machine 05:58 Station 9 depot 07:17 Inside the Tama Museum Train 08:00 Station by the lake 09:32 Kishi Station - finally 09:55 Station café 10:10 The stationmaster cat 10:48 Exploring around the station 11:49 Golden hour at the tranquil lake 13:41 Night shots 14:52 Station 2 farewell shot 15:20 Final trains at Wakayama Beary Travels, Wakayama, Wakayama travel, Wakayama Japan, Kansai travel, Kansai Japan, Japan travel, Japan countryside, Japanese countryside, rural Japan, Japan vlog, travel vlog Japan, train vlog, railway vlog, train travel Japan, Japanese railways, local train Japan, scenic train ride, cat train, themed train Japan, Tama stationmaster cat, stationmaster cat, Kishi Station, Kishigawa Line, Wakayama Electric Railway, Tama Densha, Tama Museum Train, Strawberry Train Japan, unique trains Japan, cute trains Japan, Japan day trip from Osaka, Osaka day trip, hidden gems Japan, off the beaten path Japan, drone footage Japan, golden hour Japan, rice fields Japan, small stations Japan,
