I liked this contactless ignition system primarily for its ease of repair, which is especially important on long trips. This ignition system is primarily made from simple and readily available parts that are sold at most VAZ parts stores. You can also order the components Vadim makes separately, eliminating the need to purchase a complete kit. For example, I purchased two optical sensors, just in case. Besides its ease of repair, this ignition system has a number of very useful features that other systems lack. For example, the ignition control unit (FCUOZ) allows the following modes: Spark plug warm-up mode - allows you to dry the spark plugs without removing them, in just a few seconds. Engine speed limitation to 4000 rpm. "Sport" mode - when engaged, the ignition timing is slightly retarded, allowing our motorcycle to run even 95 octane gasoline. "Traction" mode - slightly advances the ignition timing, allowing for better traction at low rpm. In addition to all of the above, the Saruman ignition allows you to install an Oka ignition coil on a Ural motorcycle, which will provide our engine with a very powerful spark. There are some difficulties installing it in the boxer engine, but it's worth it. I began installing the ignition by making a mounting bracket for the Oka ignition coil. But installing the coil required a file, as always.))) After securing the coil to the motor, I decided to install the optical sensor and shutter. By the way, Vadim Karamov offers three types of sensors: inductive, optical slot, and optical reflective. After weighing the pros and cons of all these sensors, I chose the optical reflective sensor. Installation is quite simple; the main thing is to ensure the correct clearance between the sensor and the shutter, which should be between 5mm and 7mm. Connecting the Saruman contactless ignition system wiring is not a difficult task, as Vadim includes a wiring diagram with his kit, and the wiring is so simple that you just need to connect the wires by color and that's it.
