June 7th, 2026 - Second Sunday after Pentecost Follow Me: The CALL of Jesus Our previous sermon series ended with a reminder of our God-given mission to go and share the Good News of salvation through Jesus. The June sermon series will spend four weeks describing in more detail what it looks like to carry out that mission as followers of Jesus. We will read different accounts of Jesus calling his disciples to follow him, each week highlighting a different important aspect of what Jesus expects of us as his disciples. Jesus knows that following him isn’t always easy, but he wants us to know that he is always with us. We will see the heart of Jesus for all his disciples throughout this series. The heart of Jesus always brings comfort and strength to all who follow him in faith. In this service, as Jesus calls Matthew to be his disciple, we will see the mercy of Jesus. He doesn’t call the spiritually healthy to follow him, but rather those who know they are sick with sin, reminding us that church isn’t a haven for the holier-than-thou, it’s a hospital where we all find healing in Jesus.
