Until this year, he was the National Director of Geopolitics of Living Well and Foreign Policy for the Vice Presidency of the Plurinational State of Bolivia. He is the driving force behind the prestigious Decolonization Workshop and the Amautic Thought Community. A leading figure in the decolonial perspective internationally, Segales's packed agenda during his visit to Argentina included activities such as the series "Political Thought and Decolonization," convened by the Institute for Studies and Training (IEF) of the Autonomous CTA (Central American University of Buenos Aires), ATE Universities, and the National Pedagogical University. This Sunday, May 15th, starting at 4:00 p.m., he will lead the talk "Thinking About Our America with Our Own Categories," as part of the Ciccus publishing house's activities at the Buenos Aires Book Fair. In this interview with Canal Abierto, Segales diagnoses the economic, social, and environmental crisis facing the planet and warns: "The neo-Malthusian theories of the world's richest 1% are trying to eliminate two-thirds of humanity because the new post-industrial paradigm leaves us human beings redundant."
