NEW! Mac Sinise - Sleepy Song

I have a great pal I’ve known for years, John Ondrasik of the band Five for Fighting. In Mac’s journal I found lyrics for a beautiful song he calls "Sleepy Song." John knew and loved Mac. In fact, Mac had backed up John on drums a few times, and so I asked him if he’d consider writing a song with Mac. He was totally into it, so I sent him the lyrics along with a recording of something Mac was noodling around with on piano. That got the song started. It’s a sad song told from the perspective of a dairy talking to the person (Mac possibly?) who writes his thoughts down in the diary at night before he goes to sleep. "Let your thoughts pour out, They’ll disappear into the dark. Read the words in harmony, In this diary we are." I love the lyrics so much that I asked Logan Vollmers, who provided our video production for Part Three, to put together a video with the words featured. John sings beautifully and plays piano, backed up by a solo cello. And while most of the lyrics came right out of Mac’s journal, John added the beautiful line, "And if you miss me I am never gone." John loved Mac, and he knows how much our family misses him every day. When I think about this song, simply words on a page in Mac’s journal coming to life so beautifully, I think of Mac and how he probably never imagined this "Sleepy Song" would ever be on an album. Let alone with Five For Fighting’s John Ondrasik writing it with him. But it is, in a beautiful way. Thank you, John. Well done my friend.
