Today, Friday the 6th of December 2024, is the last day of route 266 RATP operation. Tomorrow, the route will be run by Metroline. Metroline 266 - • The FIRST DAY Of Route 266 Metroline Opera... Brand new electric double deckers have been ordered for the route. However, these have been delayed. Wright Gemini 2 diesels and MCV EvoSeti hybrids will be used temporarily. These will replace the diesel and hybrid buses currently being used. These include ADL Enviro400 diesels, ADL Enviro400 Hybrids, Wright Gemini 2 hybrids, And Wright Gemini 3 hybrids. Route 266 currently runs from Park Royal (RP) garage. Tomorrow, the route will run from Cricklewood (W) garage. This is located at the northern end of the route. Route 266 runs from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Acton High Street. Via Staples Corner Retail Park, Brent Cross West Station, Cricklewood Bus Garage, Cricklewood Lane, Willesden Green Station, Willesden Bus Garage, Willesden Magistrates Court, Harlesden Police Station, Harlesden Jubilee Clock, Willesden Junction Station, Old Oak Common Lane, North Acton Station, Acton Main Line Station, And Acton Old Town Hall. Route 266 runs every 8 to 20 minutes. The route is 10 miles (16km) long. A full journey on route 266 takes 49 to 98 minutes. Route 266 runs from 5:00 AM to 12:50 AM. Night route N266 will also pass to Metroline tomorrow. This route runs from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Hammersmith Bus Station. The route runs via the 266 until Acton. It then runs via the old routeing of the 266 until Hammersmith. As part of the 7th of December 2019 bus changes, route 266 was cut back. The route previously ran 24/7 from Brent Cross Shopping Centre to Hammersmith Bus Station. To improve reliability, TfL cut the route back at Acton. At the same time, route N266 was recreated and the 24 hour service on route 266 was withdrawn. Route 218 replaced route 266 between Hammersmith and Acton. Route 266 was created on the 3rd of January 1962. The route initially ran from Edgware to Hammersmith. Route 266 passed to First in 2012. In 2013, Tower Transit bought First’s Atlas Road (AS) garage. Route 266 transferred to Westbourne Park (X) garage in 2017. Metroline won route 266 back in 2017 on a 2 year contract. The route passed to RATP in 2019, on the same day as its cut from Hammersmith.
