Welcome to Kitadaito, a remote island 360km away from Naha, Okinawa! Did you know there are NO beaches here? Surrounded entirely by steep cliffs, this island is completely different from the typical Okinawan resorts. In this solo trip, I challenged the extreme "cliff entry" for snorkeling (which is hard even for the locals!) and witnessed amazing bare-handed fishing in incredibly clear waters. Also, since regular ferries cannot dock here due to the rough waves, passengers have to be loaded onto the island inside a flying gondola lifted by a massive crane! 🏗️ It's an absolutely crazy but unforgettable experience.
