Actress Rina Takeda appeared at the production announcement press conference for her first starring role in the drama series "Wakakozake" (BS Japan), which premieres in January 2015, held in Tokyo on October 19th. Takeda, who is skilled in karate, also revealed her admiration for "Drunken Fist." She expressed her disappointment, saying, "I talked to the director about wanting to do 'Drunken Fist,' but he said, 'Not this time.'" The press conference was held at a popular kappo shop that appears as Wakako's favorite spot, "Araku," and was attended by Yoshihiro Nozoe, who plays the owner of "Araku," and Kenta Kamakari, who plays Araku's employee, Aoyagi. "Wakakozake" is based on the manga by Chiemi Shinkyu, currently serialized in the manga magazine "Monthly Comic Zenon" (Tokuma Shoten). The story follows Wakako, a 26-year-old female office worker, as she wanders around various places and enjoys drinking alone. This is BS Japan's first drama series (12 episodes in total), and will air every Thursday at 11:30 pm starting January 8, 2015. It is also scheduled to be broadcast on terrestrial television.
