Building a Gearbox Testing Stand
With the Triumph Spitfire overdrive gearbox filled with oil, I put together this video to show you how you can test it before it goes back in the car. This setup will work for any of our Spitfire or GT6 boxes, and will also work for many other cars (such as my Triumph TR6) by simply moving the brackets that hold the gearbox in place. Most Triumph gearboxes all had a 1/2 inch shaft at the front of the input shaft, but you'll want to measure your transmission to be sure you have the right adapter.
