We review the Eric M. Lang area control classic, Rising Sun! With excellent CMON minis and Eric M. Lang's hilarious design that allows players to win victory points by losing battles with creative tabletop strategies, a usual part of the trilogy of board games that includes Ankh and Blood Rage! Everyone controls a faction clan with asymmetric abilities and will worship kami plus fight over provinces over 3 seasons in legendary feudal Japan. Having honor is paramount, as it allows you to break all ties, and you must be careful about your alliances. With excellent components and no dice gameplay, there's some euro-elements and super crunchy mechanics to utilize here. Unfortunately, it all may or may not be hampered by tons of kickstarter expansion and add on hilarity.
